365 Days In Nature - March 22

It'n now officially spring here in the northern hemisphere, but you wouldn't know it if you walked outside. It's winter cold (around the freezing point) with snow in the forecast, so while we have left the Caribbean, we have arrived in Florida so let's have a look (at least until it's warm enough to go out and find something that says "spring" here) ...

As we leave Castaway Cay, we can see some of the plant life that has yet to recover from its encounter with Hurricane Sandy, two months earlier.

365 Days In Nature - March 2

And we are back on Castaway Cay in the Bahamas. The overcast, cool, windy environment on the beach at Serenity Bay has made me decide to take a hike down one of the island's paths to see what is growing here. Hurricane Sandy has taken its toll here as well, and a lot of the island's growth had turned brown, but Disney Horticulture has worked its magic and the island is looking lush again - among the still recovering flora that is still to be seen.
